I’m very happy to announce that I completed my entry for the CBC Literary Awards and I submitted it on Saturday afternoon at approximately 6 p.m. Shortly thereafter, I felt like I needed to vomit and/or scream.
Next on the list, among a growing number of writing competitions (it would seem I’m on a roll here) is NaNoWriMo. I’ve always wanted to try my hand at writing a novel in 30 days, and what better time than now? An old friend sent me the information about it in an email and though I was hesitant, I thought what the hell. Bring it on. 50,000 words in 27 days? Sure. I’ll do it. It’s going to be largely crap, but I’ll do it.
My car’s engine light has been on since Sunday and I took it to Dave’s expecting the worst, but he said it’s nothing. Breathing a huge sigh of relief, I can now move on to winter tire shopping.
Oh, and I’ve decided that along with writing for 30 days, I’m also going to not eat sugar for 30 days. We’ll see how I manage.
